1 During BoB, the airmen in 501 squadron didn't have individual airplanes and were using the ones that were available. This list contains all airplanes confirmed to be used by Skalski at least once during that period, regardless if he had a confirmed victory or not.
2 These three victories were never officially confirmed. Skalski was wounded during the flight and didn't file a raport due to his subsequent stay in the hospital.
3 This Hurricane (UZ*V, V7118) was used by 306 squadron at the time when Skalski was stationed there. With the exception of decals from SP-Decals I was unable to find a confirmation of Skalski using that particular airplane.
4 Right after its creation (between March 13th and March 23-26th 1943), Polish Fighting Team was using Spitfire V (marked ZX, 0-9). Of which, following serial numbers were assigned to Vb's: ER876, ER590 -6, ER208 -0, ER539 -7, ES133 -8. Unfortunately, lack of available documentation prevents from determining which of these was (were) used by Skalski.
5 This Spitfire (JH*Q, BM131) was used by 317 squadron at the time when Skalski was stationed there. With the exception of decals from SP-Decals I was unable to find a confirmation of Skalski using that particular airplane.
6 Right after its creation (between March 13th and March 23-26th 1943), Polish Fighting Team was using Spitfire V (marked ZX, 0-9). Of which, following serial numbers were assigned to Vc's: BP959, ES214 -4, ER804, ER920 -5, ER903, ER805 -9. Unfortunately, lack of available documentation prevents from determining which of these was (were) used by Skalski. The one listed was used by Skalski after the PFT was disbanded.
7 Mk.IXs used by PFT were built as part of one of the first production series and used several elements characteristical for Mk.Vs (like horizontal stabilators or "wide" gun covers on top of the wings). On top of that, they used an early air intake (the one located underneath the nose), without a built-in desert filter. Unfortunately, my model of ZX-1 was built (almost) OOB and the elements listed above are correct for Mk.IX from later production runs.
Although there is no confirmation that Skalski ever flew the ZX-4, one cannot discard such possibility. Because of that, I included gallery of model built by Artur as an example of the correct F Mk.IX used by PFT.
8 This particular Mk.IX was a converted Mk.V. During building, one has to pay special attention to the differences from "regular" Mk.IX listed in note about Spitfires used by PFT.
9 As of creating this page, I was unable to find any solid information related to Skalski actually flying this airplane. The only clues relate to the fact that in April(?) of 1957 Skalski participated in pilot training (refresher course?) conducted there. There is also one undated photograph of Skalski standing in front of undetermined version of training variant of MiG-15.
