Model was built using two Hauler photo-etch sets: internal and external. I received the latter as part of the online group build organized at Track48 website. I used maybe half of the parts available from both sets.
Generally speaking, the build process was mostly uneventful. Unfortunately, every so often I wished I was building a model made by Tamiya :). One of the reasons was the plastic that AVF Club uses for its' models. I don't know why, but I just don't like it. Also, some of the parts are attached to the sprues that makes it practically impossible to separate them without inflicting some sort of the damage to the part. Maybe it's just me :), but I found it little bit annoying. Too bad, because if it wasn't for those small problems, this would be a really good model.
Paint scheme and decals are from the box. They went on without any problems.
As you can see from the above pictures, I'm missing one of the width indicators. Unfortunately, during the various stages of the build, I managed to break 3 of them (1 from this set and 2 more from another box). These parts are one of the most delicate in the whole model and for my next build I'm going to use the metal parts from Aber.
Although I bought the resin tracks from WWII Productions, I ended up using rubber ones that came with the model. I just didn't feel like cleaning and putting together tens of tiny, tiny parts. I started putting them together, but I stopped after about a dozen. As it turns out, after painting and pastels, they look the part.
I used Tamiya paints and MIG filters, washes and dry pastels.

Hauler, in each of their external sets, is giving 2 sets of jerrycan holders and instructs to put them on the back of the main compartment's door. I saw a picture showing a column of DAK vehicles with one of the 251s containing 3 holders on each of the sides. I liked it much better than the configuration in Hauler set and decided to use it on my model. I used photo-etch parts from 2 sets and cut the additional 2 from a soda can.
